Just what is a Life Club?
It’s a weekly 90-minute workshop where like-minded people get together, take a snapshot of their life, examine their achievements, work on a particular topic using materials we have created and then set a simple goal for themselves for the week. It’s time to think about life and what you want from it.
Every eight weeks each clubber gets a private one-to-one meeting with their Host (what we call a Life Check) to make sure they’re getting the most out of Life Clubs.

You get one of our gorgeous folders, a membership card and a copy of Nina’s book The Big Book of Me.
The folder acts as a life log of you and your life. Each week you get a Balance Chart to fill in (have a look at how the Balance Chart works on our home page), a diary in which to record all your ‘lightbulb moments’ and achievements and a worksheet that you work on with a partner. Plus you get a summary of whatever topic we’re discussing.

When can I join?
(close)
You can start any week you want. Just come along. If you feel like it, phone the Host first (their number is on their page), but there’s no need.
-
Do I have to go every week?
(close)
No. Just come when you can. Needless to say, the more you come the better you’ll feel.
-
Do I get to talk to the Host on my own?
(close)
Every eight weeks of coming to Life Clubs you get a free 10 minute 1-2-1 (we call it a Life Check). It’s to help you get the most out of Life Clubs and, if you want, to see if we can together plot a longer-term goal for you.
-
Is every week different?
(close)
The structure of the club is similar each week, but every week there’s a different topic – from Rules of Happiness to Creating Your Ideal Life – and they’re all relevant to you, no matter what stage of life you’re at. There are fifty different workshops, so you won’t get bored. You can read what happens in a workshop by looking at some of the articles on our home page (just click any of the press buttons, but especially The Daily Telegraph.
-
What are the weekly topics?
(close)
The topics change weekly (there are fifty in total – one for every week of the year) and whether you’re thinking about confidence or time management, you’ll learn a practical life skill and end up having a ‘lightbulb moment’ which is nothing short of exciting.
The Life Clubs topics are based around eight aspects of your personality :
- Identity – who I am
- Goals – what I want from my life
- Focus – what my next step is
- Tools – what I need to help me get there
- Organisation – how I’m going to do it
- Confidence – knowing I can do it
- Change – moving forwards
- Success – as I want it
Each workshop stands alone, but the more aspects you cover, the more you’ll get out of Life Clubs. It’s a good idea to attend at least eight clubs so as to experience how we deal with each aspect of life.
The workshops run in groups of eight and when we’ve covered all eight we start again. It doesn’t matter when you join Life Clubs as there is no beginning and no end. To find our schedule of topics, click here.

What is a 'lightbulb moment'?
(close)
We’re aiming to give you a ‘lightbulb moment’ every week. It’s when your brain suddenly understands what your intuition has been telling you – or vice versa. It’s fun watching others have them – and even more fun when it happens to you.
-
What if we all have different aims?
(close)
No matter what you want from life, you’ll find it at Life Clubs. Each club is relevant for everyone.
We couldn’t put it better than The Daily Telegraph, who said ‘The genius of the format is that it can be applied to any preoccupation, wherever you are in your life/work trajectory.’

What sort of people come?

Anyone is welcome. For a peek, check out our two and a half minute film and read our case histories.
Recent comments from Life Clubbers include:
I was dreading having to confess everything, but it’s not like that.
I didn’t know what to expect, but I certainly didn’t think it was going to be this much fun.
It’s been great being this honest, getting stuff off my chest and learning about myself.
-
I’m quite private. Is that OK?
(close)
Of course. Everyone works at their own comfort level.
90% of the time, you’re working with a partner (at least 3 different ones each workshop), and that partner will most likely be someone you don’t know. You only talk to the whole club if you choose to.
Everything’s confidential. What happens at Life Clubs stays at Life Clubs.

Who creates the topics?
(close)
Nina Grunfeld is the founder of Life Clubs. She is the author of The Big Book of Me and The Big Book of Us. Nina’s also been published and written about in several magazines, including The Daily Telegraph, Men’s Health, Cosmopolitan, You Magazine, Women & Home, Eve and Psychologies.
Nina based the concept of Life Clubs around her hitchhiking travels in the 70s. ‘You’d just get in the car with people you didn’t know and tell them things. There’s a certain comfort in talking to strangers,’ she says. Nina likes the equality of people working together. ‘There’s no guru/pupil relationship, we’re all working as both. It’s as rewarding to be able to help someone else as it is being able to discover something about yourself.’
Nina’s mission is to make people happier.
