Job description

The main purpose of being a Life Clubs Host is to inspire people to get more out of life. 

You will be responsible for running at least one weekly 90-minute Life Clubs workshop in your local area. As well as this, you will manage the local marketing and administration of running your local Life Clubs. If you want to, you can run more than one club and, using the Life Clubs materials, work with corporates, charities and individuals.

Key Tasks

1. Hosting

  • To prepare thoroughly the weekly club materials, understanding the club structure and intended outcomes
  • To welcome clubbers and create a friendly environment
  • To run the club using Life Clubs structure and materials provided
  • To present the weekly theme in a clear and interesting way
  • To encourage participation from all Clubbers in small group and/or whole group discussions
  • To actively listen to Clubbers and ask questions to help move Clubbers on with their thinking
  • To identify and deal with problems which may affect the smooth running of the club
  • To keep in touch with Clubbers during the week via e-mail prompts (or other means of communication) to sustain momentum and encourage attendance.

2. Marketing

  • To draw up an on-going marketing plan for your club/s
  • To implement your marketing plan by actively marketing your club in your local area
  • To work with Life Clubs Basecamp to promote central Life Clubs marketing initiatives in the local area
  • To review and rewrite your marketing plan on a regular basis
  • To actively promote Life Clubs in your area as an ongoing responsibility
  • To create and protect the Life Clubs brand in your area
  • To share best practice marketing strategies with other Life Clubs Hosts and be willing to implement new ideas if appropriate
  • To form and grow a mutually beneficial network of people and organisations in your local area
  • To hand out Life Clubs newsletters (provided by Basecamp) and draw Clubbers attention to any new clubs opening
  • To keep an updated Clubbers data sheet and identify and flag to Life Clubs any potential 'Star' Clubbers and any other information which could be useful for marketing purposes.

3. Administration

  • To identify a suitable venue and manage the relationship with the venue owner
  • To manage your on-line booking system (Eventbrite or similar), ensuring people can book on easily
  • To provide up to date information so Life Clubs Basecamp can keep your website pages current
  • To keep accurate records of people attending your Life Clubs for market research purposes.

4. General

  • To keep abreast of Life Clubs developments by attending on-going development events on a quarterly basis and participating in Conference Calls and Individual Calls on a monthly basis.
