What tools motivate you?
Each of us is usually motivated by several, often contradictory, tools. For example, I’m motivated by security and freedom both at the same time… go figure (as they say in the States).
Below are a few tools that might be your motivators. Once you know what your motivators are you can build them into any tasks you have to or want to achieve.
- Creation of something new
- Wanting to make a difference
- To become an expert
Those tools came to us courtesy of a motivational mentoring quiz, but to me they’re only some of the picture.
My son just asked me if I’d make a fool of myself learning how to be a gamer. He made me have a go at one of his games last night and, clearly, thought it was so funny, he wants to film it for the world to see and post it on YouTube. He reckons we can go viral.
So, which of those tools is motivating me to do that? I suppose it could be Friendship and Creation of something new.
But to me it’s the overwhelming love of a mother combined with downright stupidity!
Don’t worry. I’ll give you the link when we’ve done it.
